We are seeking an IT Application Support Specialist to join our team, focusing on parcel rating systems. This role bridges the gap between engineering and operations, supporting and enhancing both on-premises and cloud-hosted rating systems. Key responsibilities include system configuration, production monitoring, deployments, data analysis, and development support. The position requires close collaboration with development, engineering, and operations teams to ensure smooth rating activities.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze: Understand carrier rating and data, the internal rating system, and query databases for custom analysis and quality assurance.
- Automate: Improve, automate, and test system processes and performance. This includes optimizing rating routines, stored procedures, scripts, data flow, and pipelines.
- Configure: Manage technical and system setup requirements for client implementations.
- Monitor: Ensure system health, audit results, and timely data flow. Identify and resolve defects while escalating issues when necessary.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Develop deep knowledge in key areas, provide innovative solutions, and drive improvements.
- Support: Respond to internal support requests in a timely manner, analyze issues, and communicate effectively with end users to determine optimal solutions.
- Documentation: Create and maintain operational documentation and process flows.
- Performance Optimization: Tune systems and queries to improve efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with team members and serve as a backup when needed.
- Availability: Be on call for emergencies and off-peak production work as required.
Qualifications:
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with at least 3 years of relevant work experience
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with:
- SQL, SSMS, Microsoft SQL Server
- ETL, data import/export
- SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and functions
- Data analysis and quality assurance
- Azure DevOps and Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools
