A real estate company near Long Beach is looking for a Project Accountant to join their team. In this Project Accountant role, this person will be responsible for managing the financials for at least 4 construction projects, job costing, and project budgeting. What do you need for this Project Accountant role?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- 3 years of project or construction accounting experience
- Advanced Excel
- Manage all accounting functions related to construction projects, including budgeting, job costing, forecasting, and cost tracking.
- Prepare and review monthly project financials, including Work In Progress (WIP) schedules and variance analysis.
- Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts tied to construction activities.
- Collaborate with project managers to review budgets, expenditures, and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and relevant tax regulations.
- Process and track subcontractor payments, retainage, and lien waivers.
- Maintain accurate records of construction contracts, change orders, and billings.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports, audits, and regulatory filings.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes for construction-related accounts.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting workflows and reporting accuracy.
