Our client is a public sector organization. They are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst - FP&A who will be responsible for supporting the company with financial analysis and oversight of operations.

About the Opportunity
- Advise management on financial matters relevant to their operations by understanding business functions and key drivers.
- Coordinate and analyze operating budget development for assigned departments. In collaboration with Commissioners, Directors, and Managers, review budget submissions for reasonableness and accuracy ensuring alignment with guidelines set by the Executive Management Team and Council.
- Prepare, analyze, and summarize financial reporting packages by comparing results to prior years, budgets, forecasts, or trends. Analyze variance reports, apply forecasting techniques, interpret financial data, and comment on historical and projected expenditure and revenue patterns.
- Ensure departmental financial requirements are met by liaising with the accounting team, contributing to financial aspects of system upgrades, and assisting with service pricing models.
- Conduct financial research, analysis, presentations, and modeling using advanced spreadsheets, business intelligence, and data analytics tools.
- Identify and develop data management analysis techniques
- Resolve complex problems through detailed data analysis and problem-solving. Address unique or challenging issues, provide insightful commentary, recommend process improvements, and balance competing interests effectively.
- Prepare written analyses and recommendations on financial matters, including reports for Department Management, Executive Management, Committees, Council, and the public.
- Serve as a financial resource on project teams in leadership, advisory, or membership roles as required.
About You
- 4-year University degree in Business Administration or related discipline
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required
- 4-5 years' experience in a related FP&A function
- Power BI and experience with data analytics tools a strong asset
Salary Range
$100,000 - $105,000/year
