Job Description -
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for the management of all accounting activities across the company and maintaining the financial health of the company. We are looking for someone that has hands–on accounting skills to build, lead, and mentor the accounting department fostering a collaborative and high performing environment focused on Timeliness, Accuracy and Customer Service. Besides working directly with the accounting team, this individual must build strong working partnerships with customers, Project Managers, internal team members, and other key stakeholders. To be successful in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and risk management. Ultimately, you’ll make sure we comply with accounting regulations, maximize profits and mitigate risks. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of income statements, balance sheets, & cash flow statements as well as Net Suite reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including balance sheet account reconciliations and journal entries. Leveraging the best accounting practices to ensure audit readiness
  • Monitor cash and working capital usage.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis and provide insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis (MOM/YOY/Budget vs Actual).
  • Maintain Capitalized Software schedules and prepare monthly reconciliations.
  • Lead and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, coaching, and support to enhance their skills and performance, while also holding staff accountable for job duties and compliance.
  • Utilize accounting software and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Lead 1099 reporting and compliance oversight and submission.
  • Coordinating with outside auditors and providing needed information for the annual external audit.
  • Coordinate and lead all tax submission to remain in compliance with Federal, State and Local agencies.
  • Performing internal audits and financial risk assessments, as well as facilitating intervention strategies.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5 years experience in an accounting role with excellent knowledge of GAAP
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA (Preferred but not required)
  • Previous experience in accounting management or other related fields, Cost Accounting experience a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced proficiencies in Excel, Netsuite experience a plus
  • Self-starter that can manage multiple responsibilities
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Must be able to sit / stand for 8 hours
  • Walking, bending, light lifting up to 25 lbs.
