Job Description:
Our client, a global leader in the technology industry located in San Diego, is seeking a Director of Technical Accounting to join their Corporate Accounting Practices and Reporting (AP&R) group. This critical leadership role is responsible for overseeing SEC reporting, advising on complex technical accounting matters, and collaborating cross-functionally on high-impact projects. The ideal candidate has 12 years of technical accounting experience, a CPA, and a background in Big Four public accounting and/or a large public company.
Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee quarterly and annual SEC reporting.

Provide technical accounting guidance on acquisitions, dispositions, and new transactions.

Partner with cross-functional teams to address complex accounting issues.

Collaborate closely with senior leadership to drive key business decisions.

Supervise and mentor a team of technical accountants, ensuring their professional development.

Work with external auditors to manage compliance and reporting requirements.
Qualifications:

CPA certification required.

12 years of relevant experience, including Big Four and/or large public company experience.

Strong technical accounting expertise with SEC reporting knowledge.

Experience in the tech industry or related sectors (biotech, manufacturing preferred).

Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Proven ability to manage and mentor high-performing teams.
