Senior Accountant - AP
Our client, a growing real estate investment firm, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support their Accounts Payable (AP) and Corporate Operations teams. This fully remote position offers flexibility, with occasional in-person meetings in Austin. The role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with strong AP experience and a collaborative approach, as the successful candidate will work closely with various departments to ensure accurate financial processing and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Process and review incoming vendor invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization
- Facilitate onboarding of new vendors, updating records, and validating changes to payee banking information
- Assist in the preparation and filing of IRS Form 1099, ensuring timely and accurate compliance
- Allocate invoices to appropriate departments, funds, and accounts in accordance with accounting standards
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including AP reconciliation and vendor payment processing
- Resolve discrepancies and collaborate with finance and other departments to maintain effective communication
- Assist in audits by providing necessary AP records and documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting
- Proven experience in accounts payable or similar administrative roles
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Familiarity with IRS Form 1099 reporting and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with NetSuite and MS Excel; Tipalti or Bill.com experience is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Compensation:
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $80K - $85K per year. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
