Director of Corporate Accounting POST NUMBER: 309526
We are partnering with a large, established organization seeking a Director of Corporate Accounting to lead accounting activities for a significant business division. This position oversees an experienced accounting team and is responsible for financial close, general ledger operations, account reconciliations, and internal controls. The Director will also partner with business leaders on acquisitions, operational initiatives, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial results.
- Oversee general ledger accounting and the preparation and reconciliation of corporate accounts, including accruals, prepaid expenses, intangible assets, and compensation-related balances.
- Maintain the chart of accounts and oversee account structure, maintenance, and related accounting processes.
- Review SG&A expenses and departmental financial analyses to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain effective internal controls, including SOX documentation, compliance, and control execution.
- Manage and develop accounting managers and their teams, providing guidance on technical accounting matters and operational priorities.
- Lead post-acquisition accounting integration activities.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and other departments on accounting matters and business initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls, and implement automation and financial systems improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 12 years of progressive accounting experience, including prior management responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial close, and internal controls.
- Experience in corporate accounting within a complex organization; public company and/or public accounting experience preferred.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
- Experience with Oracle or comparable ERP systems preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, collaborate across departments, and drive process improvements.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with technology and automation tools.
