Our client is a web-based platform. They are looking for a Director, Accounting who will be responsible for leading their accounting function, driving the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems to support long-term scalability and growth. In this role, you will ensure strict compliance with all statutory requirements across Canada, the U.S., and international markets, while building a robust foundation for our global operations. You will lead a talented accounting team, oversee daily operations, and drive strategic initiatives that align with our growth objectives.

About the Opportunity
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team of 8, including 5 direct reports, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee all accounting operations, including journal entries, payroll, commissions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, statutory reporting, banking, and daily operations in accordance with Canadian ASPE.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies, updating financial accounting policies as needed.
- Maintain and enforce a monthly close calendar, meeting all deadlines for reconciliation, reporting, and financial analysis.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and lead initiatives to identify operational cost efficiencies.
- Lead the automation of accounting system integrations with the CRM, acting as project manager to ensure successful implementation.
About You
- CPA Designation is required.
- SaaS Experience: Proven expertise in subscription-based revenue models, including a deep understanding of SaaS financial practices.
- Systems Automation & Process Improvement: Strong focus on driving automation and continuously improving financial processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly to various stakeholders, including non-financial team members.
- Advanced Excel Proficiency: Strong skills in Excel, including expertise with functions like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Technical Tools Experience: Familiarity with systems such as NetSuite, Stripe, and Salesforce is a strong plus.
Salary Range
$166,000 - $224,000/year
