Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team in White Plains, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls. This role will support the month-end close process, prepare financial statements, and assist with audits and compliance reporting. The Senior Accountant will also serve as a resource and mentor for junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage general ledger functions and ensure accuracy in financial records

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses

Lead the month-end and year-end close processes

Assist with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP

Support audits (internal and external) by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations

Analyze financial data and provide insights to management

Work cross-functionally with other departments to improve financial procedures

Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff as needed

Participate in process improvement initiatives and system upgrades
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)

5 years of progressive accounting experience

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting

Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks)

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
-
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience:
-
Prior experience in public accounting or a corporate accounting environment

Familiarity with SOX compliance or internal controls

Knowledge of local/state tax reporting in New York
-
Experience working in a mid to large-sized company
