Sr. Director, Corporate Accounting
Our client, a global payments technology company, is seeking a Senior Director of Corporate Accounting to lead key operational accounting functions.
Location:
Foster City, CA. This position is hybrid, with onsite requirements Tuesday through Thursday. Shuttle service is provided throughout the Bay Area.
Job Description:
This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing Treasury Accounting, Consolidations, Compensation & Benefits, and Payroll Accounting. The ideal candidate will bring a continuous improvement mindset, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and a passion for developing high-performing teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead global financial consolidation, including intercompany eliminations and consolidated financial statement preparation.
- Oversee accounting for Treasury (cash, settlements, investments, hedging) and Compensation & Benefits (payroll, stock-based comp, equity).
- Ensure journal accuracy, reconciliation, and timely variance analysis during monthly close.
- Maintain strong SOX compliance and recommend enhancements to internal controls.
- Partner with global teams and shared service centers to streamline and standardize accounting operations.
- Drive process optimization through automation and methodologies like Lean Six Sigma.
- Build, mentor, and lead a global accounting team of 10, including 3 direct reports.
Requirements:
- CPA or international equivalent.
- 15 years of accounting experience, including leadership roles in large, publicly traded, multinational organizations.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Proven success in managing global teams and driving complex accounting operations.
- Experience with systems such as Oracle FCC, Blackline, and Quantum.
