Garland/Wylie/Rockwall, TX - Hybrid, 3 Days Onsite
Compensation: $95-110K
One of Vaco's midmarket clients in the East Dallas area has given us the exclusive search to onboard a Senior Accountant as a newly-created role due to growth. Looking for folks that are data and systems-savvy with an advanced background in Excel as well as a demonstrated track record in process improvement.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial records, leading complex reconciliations, and transforming data into actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a strong accounting foundation combined with exceptional analytical capabilities and technical expertise in data tools.

Role
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Conduct complex account reconciliations and variance analyses.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions (e.g., Power Query, Power Pivot, macros, VBA) to streamline reporting and automate processes.
- Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and large datasets to support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve data discrepancies and improve financial processes.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and analytical support.
- Contribute to ERP and financial systems optimization projects.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.
