A Westside manufacturer is looking for an Accounting Manager to join their team. In this Accounting Manager role, this person will be responsible for overseeing staff, maintaining the general ledger, managing accounting operations, inventory, roll forwards, WIP, financial reporting, and revenue accounting. To be successful in this role, the Accounting Manager will need to be solutions-oriented, motivated to learn, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. What do you need in this Accounting Manager role?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- 5-10 years of accounting experience
- Must have industry related experience
- Must have inventory experience
- Should have experience reviewing the work of others
- CPA and/or public accounting experience a plus
- Advanced Excel
- Manage end-to-end GL and operational accounting
- Lead the monthly close process
- Collaborate with FP&A to deliver timely and accurate actuals for use in forecasting and financial modeling
- Prepare comprehensive audit schedules and serve as the primary contact for external auditors during year-end audits
- Oversee revenue recognition activities
- Manage the full order-to-cash cycle
- Oversee all aspects of inventory accounting: tracking, valuation, reconciliation, and reporting
- Record and monitor inventory transactions across all locations
- Maintain and reconcile key inventory subledgers, including inventory in transit, vendor deposits, freight clearing, rental assets, and prepaid inventory
- Maintain inventory roll-forwards, depreciation schedules, and monitor inventory aging and excess & obsolete reserves
- Prepare and maintain roll-forwards, analyses, and reconciliations for debt and equity accounts
- Lead annual physical inventory counts and coordinate inventory audits with internal and external teams.
- Enhance internal controls and ensure accounting documentation meets audit-readiness standards.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors to manage state and local sales tax, VAT, GST, PST, and income tax filings.
