About the Role
Our client, a fast growing startup specializing in the development of computer programs using artificial intelligence is looking for an Accounting Manager who is eager to take ownership of their financial operations and reporting. This is a high-impact role with the opportunity to grow alongside the company, shape financial best practices, and contribute to strategic decision-making.
You’ll play a critical role in ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting, maintaining smooth financial operations, and supporting company-wide initiatives. You’ll work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, serving as a key financial partner throughout the organization.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee all aspects of financial data management, including revenue recognition, COGS, OpEx, and balance sheet accounts
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and support both internal and external audit requirements
- Manage and optimize financial systems such as NetSuite, Ramp, Gusto, and Payfit
- Handle complex financial transactions, including stock-based compensation, transfer pricing, and shareholder loans
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and produce clear, timely reports for leadership and stakeholders
- Monitor statutory and regulatory compliance requirements
- Perform recurring financial analyses (e.g., variance analysis, account reconciliations)
- Partner with People Operations to analyze and track payroll and compensation costs
- Execute daily financial operations (bill payments, payroll processing, cash monitoring)
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and other FP&A initiatives as needed
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in audit with deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- CPA strongly preferred
- 5–10 years of experience in audit and/or corporate finance roles
- Advanced experience with NetSuite and confidence managing financial systems
- Based in CST or EST time zones
- Strong ability to collaborate with external partners (accountants, auditors, tax advisors)
- Highly detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to accuracy
- A proactive, self-starter mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve independently
- Excellent communicator who can simplify complex accounting topics for non-financial audiences
- Strong team player who takes initiative but thrives in collaborative environments
- Passion for continuous learning and professional development
- Experience in the tech, software, or infrastructure industries
- Basic familiarity with French GAAP
