Salary: $55k-$60k
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, and other high impact events at Crossroads.
JOB SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant is responsible for applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports for Crossroads and its subsidiaries.
PRINCIPAL DUTIE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform the daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations as determined by manager to ensure finances are maintained in an effective, up-to-date and accurate manner
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting transactions and completing corresponding reconciliations.
- Review, investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports.
- Maintain and monitor fixed assets including recording monthly depreciation, recording fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system and reconciling the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger. Cross-train accounts payable and accounts receivable to assist as needed.
- Assist with month end closing
- Perform other related ad hoc projects as required
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education Requirements:
College level accounting classes or Accounting Degree preferred.
Experience / Skills Requirements:
Skills are required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
2-4 years of experience in a financial environment or equivalent combination of education and experience; office practices; operating equipment; and use of technology.
Knowledge is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and understand complex, multi-step written and oral instructions.
