Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced B2B Collections Specialist to manage the collection of outstanding receivables from business clients. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in commercial collections, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to maintain positive client relationships while recovering past-due accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Collections Management
- Manage a portfolio of past-due B2B accounts ranging from $1,000 to $500,000
- Contact customers via phone, email, and correspondence to collect outstanding balances
- Negotiate payment plans and settlement agreements with commercial clients
- Document collection activities and maintain detailed account notes in CRM system
Account Analysis & Strategy
- Analyze customer payment histories to develop collection strategies
- Review disputed invoices and work with internal teams to resolve billing issues
- Recommend credit holds and payment term adjustments
- Identify early warning signs of potential collection problems
Relationship & Reporting
- Maintain professional relationships with clients while pursuing collections
- Collaborate with sales teams to balance collection efforts with ongoing business relationships
- Prepare collection reports and track key metrics (DSO, recovery rates)
- Ensure compliance with federal and state collection regulations
Required Qualifications
Experience & Education
- Minimum 3 years of B2B collections experience in commercial/corporate environment
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field preferred
- Experience with ERP systems and collections software (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
Skills & Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication with effective negotiation abilities
- Excellent phone presence and professional demeanor in difficult situations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management
- Knowledge of collection laws, regulations, and best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
