About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on payroll experience to manage end-to-end payroll operations for their workforce. The successful candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll for employees across multiple locations and departments
- Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions with precision
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and status changes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and labor laws
- Prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll tax returns and reports
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues professionally
- Assist with year-end processes including W-2 preparation and distribution
- Support internal and external payroll audits as needed
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate data flow and reporting
- Stay current with payroll legislation and best practices
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of comprehensive payroll processing experience
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
- Proficiency with payroll software systems (ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with HRIS systems
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus
