About the Company?
Our client is an insurance company. They are looking for a who will be responsible for overseeing month-end duties, including financial reporting and analysis, along with audit support and internal controls, overseeing A/P & A/R and any ad hoc as required. The Assistant Controller will oversee 2-3 direct reports, which will be determined upon selection of a successful candidate.

About the Opportunity?
Financial Reporting and Analysis?
-
Prepare?monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.?

Prepare monthly variance and trend analyses.?
-
Support budget preparation and forecasting processes.?
General Ledger and Account Reconciliation?
-
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.?
-
Review posted journal entries for reasonability.?
-
Lead?month-end and year-end closing activities.?
Compliance and Internal Controls?
-
Ensure financial practices comply with internal policies and external regulations.?
-
Assist with maintenance and documentation of?internal controls and procedures.?
Accounts Payable/Receivable Support?
-
Oversee?AP/AR processes,?providing guidance where necessary on?invoice processing, payments, and collections.?

Oversee reconciliation of?vendor and customer accounts.?
Audit Support?
-
Prepare schedules and?audit working papers as needed.?
-
Respond to auditor inquiries and?assist with?implementation of?audit recommendations.?
System and Process Improvement?
-
Assist with implementation and upgrades of accounting software?and?systems.?

Identify and recommend improvements to accounting procedures and workflows.?

Complete special projects or analysis?assigned.?
About You?
-
CPA, CFE passed
-
3 or more years experience as a senior accountant, senior financial analyst style roles or 1 year experience as an assistant controller.

People management skills
Salary Range?
$90,000 - $100,000/year?
