

Accounts Payable Specialist POST NUMBER: 447890
- Work closely with the Logistics Manager and AP team to ensure accurate billing from carriers
- Audit freight summary billing, Identify freight variances on inbound and outbound orders between accrual records and carrier invoices
- Send the related invoices to Logistics Manager for review and approval
- Verify loading and unloading delay charges from carriers; identify possible bill back to customers or principles
- Identify “pass through” freight charges for 3PL customers, and work with invoicing team to ensure recouperation of pass-through cost
- Identify margin anomalies as they relate to outbound freight
- Identify outbound freight billing discrepancies based on freight handling codes and coordinate corrections with the customer care team
- Highlight missing freight accruals on Inbound orders prior to receipt; coordinate with Logistics team to update order status
- Notify the invoicing team of carrier proof of delivery for direct order invoicing
- Audit courier invoices; identifying order related charges; administrative charges and sample shipments
- Send for approval rail car related charges (switches; detention; pumping; and scaling)
- Identify tax/billing errors on invoices, coordinate corrections with carriers
- Ensure proper proof of delivery is provided by carrier on all orders
- Process invoices to meet month end requirements, ensuring proper expense accounts are used
- Coordinate and validate carrier vendor set up, as per internal controls
- Verify banking information for change in electronic payments
- Act as back up for principle/supplier payables; miscellaneous payables; employee expenses
- Address all freight inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Work on special projects as needed
- Assisting different finance functions as required
- Perform year-end duties as necessary
About You
- Accounting or financial experience
- University or College graduate in Finance, or Accounting or equivalent experience
- Sig Sigma Yellow or Green belt
- 3-5 Years logistics billing clerk experience
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask
- Superior interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and experience working in the transportation industry
- Able to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
Salary Range
$60,000 - $70,000/year
