

Senior Accountant POST NUMBER: 447275
Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented?Senior Accountant to join their team onsite in St. Pete, Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in day-to-day accounting, experience collaborating with external auditors, and a proactive approach to process improvement. Public accounting experience is a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger by recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accrual management, allocations, and financial data analysis.
- Prepare and distribute daily and weekly financial reports and presentations for executive leadership to support informed decision-making.
- Manage sales tax filings, capital expenditure tracking, margin audits, and monthly commission calculations to ensure regulatory compliance and financial accuracy.
- Assist with accounts payable processes, including preparing wire transfers and managing supporting documentation for audits and internal reviews.
- Collaborate across departments and provide guidance to staff accountants to improve financial processes, ensure data accuracy, and meet team objectives.
- Support the Assistant Controller by aligning team efforts, monitoring progress, and contributing to workload balance and process improvements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in general accounting and cost accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Great Plains).
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
Workstyle
- 5 days a week onsite in Tampa, FL
