Bank Reconciliation Accountant
Job Summary
Vaco has partnered with a Health Care Company and they are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Bank Reconciliation Accountant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate reconciliation of bank statements with company records. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies, ensure the accuracy of financial transactions, and maintain an organized and efficient process for all bank-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate records of financial transactions.
- Review and verify all bank statements, company ledger accounts, and other financial documents to ensure consistency.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank balances and general ledger balances.
- Prepare journal entries to reflect the correct financial position of the company.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate coding of transactions.
- Monitor and identify any unusual or suspicious transactions to ensure financial compliance and security.
- Maintain a detailed record of reconciliation activities, including adjustments, corrections, and resolutions.
- Generate regular reports for management review, highlighting reconciliation status and any issues.
- Assist in the preparation of audit documentation and support external auditors as required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations regarding cash management.
- Assist in other ad-hoc financial tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience (typically 2-3 years) in accounting or finance, with a focus on bank reconciliation.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial data with confidentiality.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other relevant certifications.
- Experience in a banking or financial institution environment.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
