Vaco is seeking a Staff Accountant (AR) for a client based in Irvine, CA.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
As a Staff Accountant – A/R, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the collection of rent and other property-related charges. Your role will involve maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely receipt of payments, and handling any discrepancies or issues that arise. You will work closely with tenants, property management team, and accounting team to make certain that all transactions are processed efficiently and in compliance with established SOPs, company policies, and relevant regulations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Generate and distribute accurate and timely tenant invoices for rent, common area maintenance charges, utilities, and other billable items in accordance with the lease agreements
• Review and interpret lease agreements to ensure accurate billing and reconciliation of tenant charges, including rent escalations, common area maintenance charges, and other lease-related fees
• Monitor and manage tenant rent payments, including tracking delinquencies, initiating collection efforts, and ensuring timely application of payments
• Assist in the preparation of accounts receivable reports and analysis, providing insights into collections, aging, and outstanding balances
• Collaborate with property managers and tenants to address billing inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and maintaining positive tenant relationships
• Prepare tenant account analysis and reconciliation when tenant dispute charges
• Prepare and reconcile daily cash receipts with bank deposits; identify and resolve variances
• Collection and Input sales, reconcile, and calculate percentage rent
• Reconcile daily gift card and attraction sales with bank deposits
• Assist with internal and external audit by providing requested documentation and information
• Participate in special projects, initiatives, and system implementations as assigned by management
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
• Proven experience (2 years) in Accounts receivable, customer service and collections
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Strong understanding of lease agreements, lease accounting principles, and legal terminology.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite
