Job Summary:
Our client, a leading property management company, is seeking an Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to join their accounting team. This role is responsible for managing tenant payments, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely collection of receivables. The ideal candidate will have experience in real estate or property management accounting, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with tenants and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and post tenant rent payments, security deposits, and other receivables.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts to ensure timely collections.
- Reconcile tenant ledgers and accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Generate and send monthly statements, invoices, and late notices to tenants.
- Work closely with the property management team to address tenant payment issues.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and AR-related documentation.
- Maintain accurate records in property management and accounting software (Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with company policies, lease agreements, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, preferably in property management or real estate.
- Proficiency in property management accounting software (Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, etc.) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes, collections, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills for tenant interactions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
