Client: Well-Known Hospitality/Real Estate Organization
Role: Senior Accountant
Salary: $45-50/hr
Location: Manhattan, NY - 5 days a week onsite

POSITION SUMMARY 

Reporting to our Accounting Manager, you will perform various accounting functions for our multi-unit restaurant/hospitality group.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Preparation of daily cash reporting.
  • Analyze G&A expense accounts and prepare accrual journal entries as appropriate.
  • Ensure proper reconciliation of various bank accounts and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
  • Track prepayments and post amortization entry as needed.
  • Assist with day to day accounting operation.
  • Identify, record, and timely capitalization of fixed assets.
  • Perform reconciliations for several general ledger accounts.
  • Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.  
  • Assist Accounting Manager with 3rd Party related tasks and entries.
  • Raise accounting issues and coordinate with accounting team to drive consistency across process and controls.
  • Assist with year-end audit requests and other ad-hoc assignments as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum 3 years professional accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.  
  • Experience in supporting Accounting close processes.
  • Understanding of prepayments and accrued expenses.  
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and JD Edwards general ledger or other equivalent ERP system.
  • Knowledge of Blackline software is a plus.
  • A team player who has the ability to multi-task and is self-directed.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Must be deadline focused, organized and exhibit problem-solving skills.
  • Handle a dynamic work environment with competing priorities.
