Client: Well-Known Hospitality/Real Estate Organization
Role: Senior Accountant
Salary: $45-50/hr
Location: Manhattan, NY - 5 days a week onsite
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to our Accounting Manager, you will perform various accounting functions for our multi-unit restaurant/hospitality group.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparation of daily cash reporting.
- Analyze G&A expense accounts and prepare accrual journal entries as appropriate.
- Ensure proper reconciliation of various bank accounts and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
- Track prepayments and post amortization entry as needed.
- Assist with day to day accounting operation.
- Identify, record, and timely capitalization of fixed assets.
- Perform reconciliations for several general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Assist Accounting Manager with 3rd Party related tasks and entries.
- Raise accounting issues and coordinate with accounting team to drive consistency across process and controls.
- Assist with year-end audit requests and other ad-hoc assignments as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Minimum 3 years professional accounting experience.
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
- Experience in supporting Accounting close processes.
- Understanding of prepayments and accrued expenses.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and JD Edwards general ledger or other equivalent ERP system.
- Knowledge of Blackline software is a plus.
- A team player who has the ability to multi-task and is self-directed.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Must be deadline focused, organized and exhibit problem-solving skills.
- Handle a dynamic work environment with competing priorities.
