Senior Cost Accountant:
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join a growing and collaborative team in a manufacturing environment. This role will have full ownership of cost accounting functions and play a key role in financial reporting, inventory management, and variance analysis. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Own cost accounting and general accounting responsibilities for a manufacturing plant or product line, including the P&L and related balance sheet accounts.

Perform month-end close duties, including journal entries, accruals, depreciation, and reconciliations.

Analyze cost and financial variances to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.

Maintain accurate inventory valuation, monitor cost changes, and establish reserves for slow-moving or obsolete inventory.

Prepare and distribute financial reporting packages with meaningful variance commentary for leadership teams.

Partner with operations and finance teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization initiatives.

Ensure internal controls are in place and functioning effectively; assist with audit requests as needed.

Support intercompany transactions, account reconciliations, and ad hoc analysis as requested.

Share best practices across the team and participate in cross-functional projects focused on operational efficiency and cost savings.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

4 years of progressive accounting experience, with strong exposure to cost accounting, financial analysis, and inventory.

Manufacturing or product-based industry experience preferred.

CPA preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) preferred.

Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and ability to meet deadlines.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with stakeholders across departments.
