Accounting Manager
Lower Fairfield County, CT

Compensation: $140k (DOE) and a bonus

Position Summary:
One of Vaco’s clients is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will come from a large regional CPA or consulting firm, with strong technical accounting expertise and a growing track toward a leadership role. This person will be a key team member, contributing to financial operations, process improvements, and preparing for future financial growth.

Key Responsibilities:

· Support annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
· Consolidate financial results across business units using Hyperion Essbase.
· Operate as a utility player for financial close, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations across multiple business units.
· Support internal and external audits, manage PBC lists, and provide schedules and support as needed.
· Support financial deliverables related to taxes alongside internal and external team members.
· Identify process improvement opportunities and implement more efficient financial practices.
· Prepare internal financial reporting packages and perform related financial analysis (such as reviewing KPIs and variance explanations) on a monthly basis.
· Support day-to-day operational tasks, including cash management and renewal of financial instruments.
· Provide financial oversight for growing team and aid in developing SOPs.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

· CPA is preferred or a willingness to pursue licensure.

· 5–7 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior or corporate accounting role.

· Public accounting or large consulting background 

· Experience in a manufacturing or CPG (inventory) environment is a must.

· Experience with financial consolidations in large, complex organizations.

· Ability to handle broad financial responsibilities with strong technical accounting skills (debits, credits, journal entries).

· Ability to be a high-energy, motivated team player with a growth mindset.

· Ability to work autonomously while wearing many hats in a growing company.

· Excellent communication skills — able to collaborate with various stakeholders.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong process improvement orientation.

· Flexible and adaptable — eager to contribute toward growing financial operations.
