One of Vaco’s manufacturing clients in the midst of moving a piece of their operations here to the metroplex is looking to onboard a Cost Accounting Director ASAP. They need someone that can be hands-on and in the weeds with the ability to build out a roadmap and streamline processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for the plant.
- Cost Control: Monitor manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control processes and reconcile physical inventories with financial records.
- Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and company financial regulations and policies.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and business planning.
- Internal Controls: Develop and implement effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
- Audit Support: Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to auditor inquiries.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the plant finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
