We are seeking an experienced Director of Payroll Systems to lead the technical strategy, support, and administration of our payroll systems. This role will serve as the primary liaison between Payroll, HR, IT, and external vendors to ensure the payroll technology landscape is operating accurately, efficiently, and securely. A deep understanding of PeopleSoft 9.0, HRMS/payroll configuration, and SQL is essential.
- Oversee the design, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of all payroll system components, with a focus on PeopleSoft 9.0 HRMS/Payroll.
- Provide strategic leadership and hands-on support for system upgrades, patches, testing, and enhancements.
- Lead cross-functional payroll technology projects, ensuring timely delivery, compliance, and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Partner closely with Payroll and HR teams to identify process improvement opportunities and implement system-based solutions.
- Ensure payroll applications are secure, compliant, and meet operational performance standards.
- Manage integrations between payroll systems and other platforms (HRIS, financial systems, time & attendance, etc.).
- Develop and maintain advanced queries, reports, and analytics using SQL and other reporting tools.
- Lead and mentor payroll systems analysts or support staff as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Accounting, HR, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7 years of progressive experience in payroll systems support or HRIS, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Expertise in PeopleSoft 9.0 HRMS/Payroll configuration, implementation, and ongoing support.
- Strong technical proficiency in SQL for data extraction, reporting, and system validation.
- Proven experience leading payroll or HRIS system projects from design through deployment.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance, security protocols, and SOX controls related to payroll systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
