In this role you will be trusted to come in and help a robust PowerBI team locate areas of improvement and performance issues to the team can scale. 

Title: PowerBI SME Consultant 
Employment Type: 3 month Contract
Compensation: 65-67/hr
Location: Remote

Must Have Experience:
  • Power BI – SME level.  Able to make recommendations in this area. Including:
    • Performance tuning
    • Back-end optimization
  • Data modeling
  • DAX experience (Data Analysis Expressions)
  • Data warehousing experience
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Infrastructure Optimization Consultant to conduct a comprehensive analysis of our Power BI environment. This role will focus on identifying performance bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and scalability concerns across our reports, datasets, capacities, and workspaces. This role will report to the VP, Software and Data Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • • Conduct a full audit of the existing Power BI ecosystem, including: Reports and dashboards
  •  Datasets and dataflows
  •  Workspaces and deployment pipelines
  •  Premium and shared capacities
  •  Analyze performance metrics and usage patterns to identify:  Slow-loading reports
  •  Inefficient DAX queries or data models
  • Overloaded capacities or underutilized resources
  •  Redundant or outdated assets
  •  Provide recommendations for:  Performance tuning and optimization
  • Workspace and capacity reorganization
  • Governance and lifecycle management improvements
  •  Scaling strategies for future growth
  • Collaborate with internal BI developers, data engineers, and IT stakeholders to validate findings and prioritize improvements
  • Deliver a comprehensive report and presentation summarizing findings, insights, and actionable recommendations
Deliverables:
  •  Power BI infrastructure audit report
  •  Performance and scalability assessment
  •  Prioritized list of recommendations
  •  Final presentation to stakeholders
