Job Summary

We process payroll weekly and are seeking a hands-on Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations with precision. The Payroll Manager will oversee all aspects of payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, and payroll accounting. This role requires a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to resolve issues, answer inquiries, and ensure accurate payroll and GL integration.
Responsibilities
• Manage weekly payroll processing for 600–1000 employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Supervise and mentor payroll staff of 1, fostering a high-performance team culture
• Handle employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and discretion
• Oversee payroll tax filings, deposits, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Maintain and reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts
• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless data flow and reporting
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (FLSA, IRS, etc.)
• Prepare and review payroll reports for audits, budgeting, and forecasting
• Lead system upgrades and process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency
• Support internal and external audits related to payroll and benefits
Qualifications
• 10 years of payroll experience, including 5 years in a Payroll Manager role (required)
• Experience processing payroll weekly in an hourly environment (required)
• Strong knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, UKG, Paycom, Workday) (required)
• Experience with general ledger integration and payroll accounting (required)
• In-depth understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferred
