Data Engineer IV (Lead)
Location: Hybrid – Raleigh, NC (2 days/week onsite)
Overview:
Join a high-impact BI team during a major modernization effort, transitioning from legacy systems to Snowflake and Power BI. This is a hands-on, strategic role with opportunities for leadership and architectural influence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design and development of scalable data solutions using Snowflake and Power BI
- Migrate legacy systems (Cognos, SSIS) to modern cloud-based platforms
- Own end-to-end data pipeline development, modeling, and reporting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders
- Mentor team members and contribute to architectural decisions
Requirements:
- 8 years in data engineering, including 3 years in a lead or architect role
- Strong Snowflake expertise (development, architecture, tuning)
- Experience with Kimball and Data Vault 2.0 modeling
- 5–7 years in BI/reporting (Power BI preferred)
- Proficient in SQL, Python, and orchestration tools (Airflow, DBT, or Matillion)
- Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Preferred:
- Snowflake certification (SnowPro)
- Real-time data streaming (Kafka)
- Mortgage or financial services experience
Soft Skills:
- Self-starter with strong ownership and initiative
- Comfortable in fast-paced, high-expectation environments
- Able to communicate technical insights to senior leadership
- Must be hands-on and avoid reliance on AI tools during interviews
