Finance Leader - Strategic Finance & Value Creation
In-office (Pittsburg) with travel to portfolio companies (25–40%)
 
A top-performing private equity-backed platform is seeking a Strategic Finance leader to join its internal operating team. This individual will work directly with portfolio company executives to strengthen finance functions, drive operational improvements, and support long-term value creation across a wide range of industries.
This role is ideal for a strategic finance professional with a blend of consulting and hands-on operating experience — someone who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments and is comfortable influencing C-suite leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with portfolio companies to elevate finance functions and improve reporting, forecasting, and decision-making tools
  • Lead or support ERP implementations and finance system upgrades
  • Serve as a hands-on strategic resource — sometimes acting in an interim leadership capacity (e.g., VP Finance or interim CFO)
  • Build and enhance dashboards, KPIs, and board-level reporting tools aligned to private equity standards
  • Execute on special initiatives including M&A integration, cash management, and financial transformation projects
  • Collaborate closely with deal and operations teams post-close to implement growth and efficiency strategies
What We’re Looking For:
  • 8–15 years of experience in strategic finance roles
  • Blend of top-tier consulting and operating company experience preferred
  • Experience with private equity-backed businesses strongly preferred
  • Deep expertise in FP&A, reporting, and financial infrastructure
  • Track record of building or leading finance functions in high-growth environments
  • Experience with ERP or finance technology implementation
  • Strong executive presence, relationship-building skills, and a pragmatic, hands-on mindset
  • Comfortable working with blue-collar operators and senior-level executives alike Compensation:  (Title & Compensation will be based on experience level)
