

Accounting Specialist (AR/AP) POST NUMBER: 452342
Salary: $22-24.00/hr
Position Summary
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for full-cycle Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P) processes. This role ensures the timely and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing financial transactions, supports month-end close, manages reconciliations, and helps maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent internal and external customer service.
Primary Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable

Process and post customer payments via cash, check, ACH, and other electronic methods.

Monitor A/R aging reports and conduct proactive collection activities for past-due accounts.

Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, chargebacks, returns, and unapplied payments.

Maintain accurate customer account records, including tax exemption certificates.

Assist with sales tax compliance and reporting using Avalara software.

Respond to A/R inquiries and provide documentation as needed for audits and internal teams.
Accounts Payable

Process high-volume vendor invoices with proper coding and approval routing per company policy.

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies with suppliers.

Prepare and execute weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments accurately and on schedule.

Maintain vendor master data, including W-9s, payment terms, and 1099 information.

Support month-end close activities including A/P accruals and ledger reconciliations.
Additional Duties

Maintain organized electronic and physical financial records and files.

Ensure confidentiality and integrity of financial data.

Assist with audits and special projects as assigned.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, customer service, and finance.
