About the Company? 

Our client is an infrastructure company. They are looking for a Chief Financial Officer who will be responsible for leading the financial function of a growing construction company. This role is ideal for a seasoned finance executive with 15 years of experience, including deep expertise in mergers & acquisitions, capital structure management, financial reporting, and process improvement—preferably within the construction, infrastructure, or industrial services sector. The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team and a core driver of growth, responsible for ensuring financial strength, operational efficiency, and strategic positioning as the company scales through both organic growth and acquisition.

About the Opportunity? 

Strategic Finance & Leadership 

  • Act as a strategic business partner to the CEO and executive team, helping shape the company’s short- and long-term financial vision. 

  • Lead financial due diligence, modeling, valuation, and integration for?acquisitions, divestitures, or partnerships. 

  • Drive capital structure planning, managing?debt covenants, financing arrangements, and?banking relationships. 

  • Represent the company in discussions with?banks, investors, insurance providers, and external stakeholders. 

Financial Planning & Analysis 

  • Lead the development and execution of the annual budget, forecasts, and long-range planning. 

  • Oversee monthly and quarterly reporting packages, providing?clear variance analysis, dashboards, and performance insights?to executive leadership. 

  • Establish and maintain key?KPI frameworks?tailored to the construction sector (WIP, backlog, job profitability, utilization, etc.). 

Accounting & Controls 

  • Supervise accounting operations including?job costing, revenue recognition (PoC), AP/AR, payroll, and tax compliance. 

  • Ensure accurate and timely?financial statements?in accordance with?GAAP?or IFRS, as applicable. 

  • Strengthening?internal controls, financial processes, and systems to scale with business growth. 

Operational and Process Improvement 

  • Optimize cash flow forecasting,?working capital management, and vendor relationships. 

  • Evaluate and implement ERP and reporting systems improvements; ideally with experience in systems like?Jonas, Sage 300, or Procore. 

  • Collaborate with operations to build a culture of financial accountability at the project and division level. 

 

 

 

About You? 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. CPA, CFA, or MBA strongly preferred. 

  • 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role in the construction or industrial services industry. 

  • Proven track record executing M&A transactions, capital raises, and banking negotiations. 

  • Expertise in construction accounting principles, including % of completion revenue recognition and WIP management. 

  • Strong command of financial modelling, FP&A tools, and reporting software. 

  • Demonstrated success building teams and improving cross-functional financial processes. 

  • Comfortable in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and growth-oriented environment. 

Salary Range? 

$250,000 - $300,000/year?
