401(k) Audit Administrator
Phoenix, AZ
Vaco is partnering with a leading organization to hire a 401(k) Audit Administrator. In this role, you will coordinate the collection and submission of plan documentation, support external auditors, and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of data related to 401(k) plan audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of retirement plan operations, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining compliance with ERISA and DOL requirements. This is a contract position, with compensation of $35 per hour for 6-8weeks!
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the company, third-party administrators, and auditors during the 401(k) audit process.
- Collect, organize, and submit required documentation, including payroll registers, census files, loan detail reports, and contribution records.
- Review data for completeness and accuracy before submission.
- Track audit timelines, deliverables, and follow-ups to ensure deadlines are met.
- Assist in reconciling participant data, contribution schedules, and plan activity reports.
- Maintain detailed records of audit communications and documentation for internal and regulatory purposes.
- Support Finance, HR, and Benefits teams with related audit and compliance tasks.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of Form 5500 as needed.
- Recommend process improvements for audit readiness and documentation control.
- 2 years of experience in payroll, benefits administration, accounting, or audit support.
- Familiarity with 401(k) plans, ERISA regulations, and retirement plan operations preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience working with payroll systems and recordkeepers (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Fidelity, etc.).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
