Accountant
Overview
We are seeking an adaptable and detail-oriented accounting professional to join our client’s growing organization operating in the retail sector. This position offers the opportunity to contribute across general accounting functions, gain experience with month-end close, and potentially supervise accounts payable processes as the team expands. The role is suitable for someone who enjoys hands-on work, process improvement, and collaborating with a small finance team in a manufacturing/retail environment.
Location and Schedule
- Location: In person, Liberty, KY
- Direct hire
- Manage day-to-day AP activities, ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, approvals, and payments
- Participate in month-end close activities and general ledger maintenance
- Assist with building and documenting SOPs, controls, and process improvements
- Support reconciliations, GL analysis, and financial reporting as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain internal controls and compliance with company policies
- Required:
- Demonstrated experience in accounts payable and general ledger activities
- Proven ability to participate in month-end close and produce accurate reconciliations
- Comfortable with developing or following SOPs and internal controls
- Strong problem-solving mindset, initiative, and willingness to learn
- Preferred:
- Experience supervising AP or contributing to process improvements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (not strictly required)
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good verbal and written communication
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Proficiency with accounting software and tools; familiarity with typical mid-market platforms is a plus
