Tax Consultant (Manager to Controller level) POST NUMBER: 453826
Our client, a venture capital firm backed by a major technology conglomerate, is seeking a seasoned Tax Consultant to support their internal tax operations. This role is ideal for a career consultant seeking a stable, fractional engagement with a high-performing team.
This is a part-time, long-term consulting opportunity with flexible hours and the option to work remotely or in a hybrid capacity from their Mountain View office. The initial term is one year, with strong potential for multi-year extension based on mutual fit.
Responsibilities:
- Review K-1s, K-3s, federal/state tax returns, and foreign filings prepared by external tax advisors.
- Communicate findings and coordinate resolutions with internal stakeholders and external tax firms.
- Prepare and distribute Carried Interest and Profit Sharing Plan distributions.
- Manage communications and tax documentation for General Partner entities.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly tax estimates for Limited and General Partners.
- Maintain member contact databases and review fund exits and Form 1099s.
- Assist with tax PBCs and other ad hoc compliance tasks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- 7–8 years of experience in partnership tax compliance, including GP capital accounts and carried interest.
- Experience in the asset management industry; venture capital experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage seasonal workloads.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders.
