Senior Accountant
Location: [City, State] – Onsite, Monday–Friday (9:00am–5:30pm)
Compensation: $95,000 – $110,000 (TTP; hourly during contract period)
About the Role
Fast-growing Distribution company is looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to join their lean and collaborative accounting team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in shaping financial operations at a company preparing for its first external audit.
What You’ll Do

Own the month-end close process (high volume, 15-day cycle) and drive opportunities to shorten timelines.

Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and departmental reports.

Maintain and account for fixed assets and related reporting.

Support quarterly investor reporting requirements.

Partner with the Controller and external audit/tax firms (Mazars) to ensure compliance and successful audit preparation.

Assist with accounting system management (QuickBooks Online and construction accounting software such as Activate/Lowefy).

Provide support for FP&A activities, including Cube software reporting and ad hoc analysis.

Collaborate across departments in a start-up environment to improve accounting processes and reporting accuracy.
What We’re Looking For
Must Haves
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

5 years of progressive accounting experience (Senior Accountant level).

Strong experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and fixed assets.

Background in audit preparation and working with external audit/tax teams.

Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, lean team/start-up culture.

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions.
Nice to Haves

Experience in construction accounting (Activate, Lowefy, job costing, or related systems).

Exposure to FP&A tools (Cube) or Google Suite/Excel.

International accounting experience (Japan or other global markets).

Prior work with large corporate clients (e.g., Whole Foods, retail partners).
