Staff Accountant

About the Role
Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate financial statements, maintaining the integrity of our accounting systems, and supporting business decisions through insightful analysis. What You’ll Do

Prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and general ledger reports

Perform general cost accounting and support budgeting processes

Reconcile accounts, manage monthly closings, and ensure financial data accuracy

Maintain and reconcile bank accounts, review deposits, and resolve discrepancies

Handle accounts receivable collections and accounts payable processing

Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests

Partner with software vendors to maintain and enhance accounting systems

Manage purchasing and invoicing functions

Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and reporting for leadership

Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal financial controls

Support special projects and other duties as needed
What You Bring
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
-
1 years of professional accounting experience preferred
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas, macros)
-
Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Solid understanding of general and cost accounting principles
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This is primarily a sedentary role with standard office responsibilities. You should be comfortable working at a desk, using a computer, and occasionally lifting light office materials (such as files or small boxes).

- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
