

Senior Accountant POST NUMBER: 457540
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Specialist to join their finance team. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll and contributing to process improvements across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger accounting, cash management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting deliverables, contributing to the preparation of financial statements.
- Manage and record daily banking activities, including wire transfers, ACH payments, and incoming deposits.
- Provide support for payroll operations, including coordination with an external payroll provider for a small-scale payroll process.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives such as:
- Developing and maintaining desktop procedures
- Cross-training and backup support for team functions
- Conducting account analysis and resolving discrepancies
- Engaging in process improvement and cross-departmental efforts
Additional Duties
- Prepare journal entries and manage capital expenditure transactions.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and monitor for process exceptions.
- Handle intercompany transactions and reconcile related accounts with subsidiary entities.
- Assist with the annual audit by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
- Reconcile cash accounts across multiple business units.
- Support quarterly payroll tax filings and submit IRS Form 1096s as required.
- Provide administrative assistance for employee benefit programs, including health insurance and 401(k) plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
- Strong understanding of general ledger systems and account reconciliation processes.
- Familiarity with payroll processing, cash applications, intercompany accounting, and benefits administration.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with Infor SyteLine is a strong plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with precision and organization.
- Strong communication skills with a proactive approach to internal and external customer service.
- Flexibility to adapt to shifting deadlines and business needs.
