Hybrid | CPA Required | Statutory Reporting
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to lead statutory and regulatory reporting functions within a dynamic insurance environment. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with financial regulations and delivering accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file statutory financial statements in accordance with NAIC and state insurance department requirements.
- Support quarterly and annual regulatory filings, including Schedule F, Schedule P, and other supplemental schedules.
- Collaborate with actuarial, finance, and compliance teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and analysis as needed.
- Monitor changes in insurance accounting standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring timely implementation.
- Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the reporting function.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure timely responses and resolution of inquiries.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to statutory reporting.
- Support the implementation of new accounting standards and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in insurance accounting, with a strong understanding of statutory and regulatory reporting.
- Proficiency in statutory accounting principles and US GAAP.
- Experience with accounting systems (ex: Oracle)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
