About the Role
We are seeking a Data Analyst / Data Scientist to support portfolio operations at a leading investment and management firm. This role focuses on leveraging data and analytics to drive strategic decisions, optimize business performance, and identify growth opportunities across portfolio companies.
Key Responsibilities

Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights that inform business strategies.

Build and maintain dashboards and visualizations to track key performance metrics and operational outcomes.

Develop predictive and statistical models to support decision-making, forecasting, and opportunity identification.

Collaborate with leadership to define analytics roadmaps aligned with business goals.

Prepare and present data-driven insights to executives and stakeholders in a clear, actionable manner.

Write and optimize SQL queries for extracting, transforming, and analyzing data from multiple sources.

Conduct ad hoc analyses to address immediate business questions and support timely decisions.

Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems, and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
Requirements
-
4 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, predictive modeling, or applied statistics in a corporate or consulting environment.

Strong proficiency in SQL and experience developing end-to-end data pipelines.

Advanced programming skills in Python or R.

Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.

Ability to communicate complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders and create executive presentations.

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and quantitative problem-solving skills.

Ability to independently manage analytics projects, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Nice to have: experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), machine learning techniques, or AI applications such as NLP or deep learning.
Location
Northeast U.S., onsite/hybrid flexibility.
