Fund Controller – Residential Real Estate Credit
Base $165K–$185K Bonus (typical offers all-in $240K) 15% employer contribution to 401k
Hybrid – New York (3 days in office)
Our client’s Private US Residential Real Estate Debt Strategies group (RESI) manages over $16B in AUM across fast-growing residential credit funds and separate accounts. The group is expanding its Finance Team with an experienced Fund Controller who can own fund-level reporting, partner with investment teams, and drive operational efficiency while maintaining best-in-class controls.
What you’ll do:

Serve as finance partner to the business team on loan portfolios, acquisitions, dispositions, and financing.

Take ownership of fund reporting processes: capital accounts, financials, waterfalls, IRR calculations, management fee/carry calculations.

Manage fund administrators while keeping a hands-on approach to accuracy and deadlines.

Oversee treasury functions: cash/liquidity management, capital calls, distributions, loan facilities.

Navigate complex structures (master-feeder, blockers, commingled funds, separate accounts).

Partner with ops, tax, and legal teams to ensure compliance and consistency across the platform.
What you bring:

8–12 years of experience, ideally a blend of Big 4 audit (asset management/real estate focus) and in-house fund accounting/finance.

Track record of leadership, ownership, and progression.

Strong technical grasp of fund structures and reporting.

Bachelor’s in Accounting (CPA preferred).
