

Specifications Coordinator POST NUMBER: 458488
Job Summary:
The Specifications Coordinator is responsible for developing, reviewing, and maintaining product specifications and ingredient specifications to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company quality standards. This role supports the product development, quality control, and manufacturing teams by ensuring that all specifications are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with customer requirements and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and maintain detailed product and ingredient specifications.
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, Production, and Supply Chain teams to gather required data and feedback.
- Ensure specifications comply with all relevant food safety regulations and industry standards (FDA, USDA, FSMA, etc.).
- Manage documentation updates and ensure version control throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate specification data.
- Assist in the resolution of specification discrepancies and customer complaints related to product specifications.
- Monitor and track changes to raw materials, packaging, and finished goods specifications.
- Maintain a centralized database of specifications for easy access and retrieval.
- Provide training and support to staff on specification requirements and updates.
- Stay informed about evolving food safety regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Proven experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, or product development.
- Strong understanding of food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and database management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with specification management software.
- Knowledge of allergen control and labeling regulations.
- Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and other food safety standards.
Work Environment:
- Office-based with possible occasional visits to production sites.
- Fast-paced environment requiring multitasking and attention to detail.
