Position: Senior Accountant
Location: Mission Viejo, CA (position would be onsite)
Type: Temp-to-Permanent or consulting
Compensation: $40-50/hr.
A healthcare/multi-location company in Mission Viejo, CA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join their team as a Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a CPA/Audit background with a strong understanding of General Ledger, as well as experience in account and bank reconciliation, inventory management, and data management/analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support during the month-end accounting close process
- Assist with reconciling bank and credit card accounts
- Support accounts payable staff with vendor payable system
- Run monthly cash collection reports for doctor compensation programs
- Assist with tax filings, including personal property, sales tax, 1099 forms, and local licenses and permits
- Create, analyze, and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, including prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, accrued payroll, and deferred rent
- Maintain and update the fixed asset ledger
- Advanced Excel modeling, including vlookup, sumif, index, pivot tables and more
- Assist with month-end financial analysis of income statement and balance sheet trends to support monthly reporting and variance analysis to budget as well as prior year
- Support the annual accounting audit by interfacing with auditors and preparing required schedules
- Assist with other related ad hoc responsibilities and tasks as assigned by department leadership
- Perform research and analysis as required
- Ensure compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations
- Evaluate Electronic Practice Management (EPM) systems and be able to learn multiple systems concurrently in order to support proper GAAP based collection and presentation of transactional information
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- CPA/Audit background and strong GL experience preferred
- Strong experience in account and bank reconciliation
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in inventory management preferred
- Understanding of GAAP, Revenue Recognition, Capital Expenditures and deferred rent preferred
- Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis
