Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and proficient Supply Chain Manager with a background in battery/EV/solar/electronics to join our team focused on providing global battery manufacturing solutions utilizing lithium/ion technologies.
As the Supply Chain Manager, you will oversee all aspects of supply chain management, including carrier selection, shipping methodology research, budget analysis, and storage organization. The ideal candidate will exhibit meticulous attention to detail to oversee daily operations and lead our logistics team effectively. A robust understanding of logistics and inventory systems is essential for success in this role.
Location Requirement: This position is Onsite in the Greater Irvine-CA Area. Local candidates to the area are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and sustain resources essential for establishing an efficient supply chain.
- Define performance metrics to evaluate factors influencing the supply chain.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive inventories of materials and supplies across company sites and factories.
- Ensure optimal levels of supplies and materials to streamline production.
- Evaluate current inventory procedures and propose enhancements to boost supply chain efficiency and company profitability.
- Formulate policies to enhance supply chain efficiency while upholding quality and safety standards and implementing procedural changes accordingly.
- Identify optimal shipment and transportation routes, emphasizing warehousing and distribution consolidation.
- Assess material-handling equipment and staffing needs, making recommendations to optimize material movement and storage.
- Negotiate prices for raw materials and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and shipping companies.
- Act as an advisory member of the product development team, offering insights on supply and material availability and costs.
- Collaborate in coordinating engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure smooth material and production flow transitions.
- Monitor supplier performance, evaluating their ability to meet quality and delivery standards, and collaborate with other departments to qualify new suppliers.
- Recruit and train departmental supervisors.
- Supervise the daily operations and scheduling within the department.
- Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
- Enforce disciplinary actions and terminations in compliance with company policies.
Required Skills:
- Supply Chain Management industry experience in Battery/Lithium/Solar Is a Must-Have
- 5 years of relevant experience in a supply chain management position
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation abilities to foster positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
- Proficiency in company products and logistics operations.
- Experience with SAP ERP or some other enterprise ERP system is a strong nice-to-have.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain/Business or a related discipline is required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a supervisory, managerial, or relevant position.
