We are a confidential, growing 100% woman-owned real estate company seeking a highly trustworthy and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Brentwood, TN. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, in-office environment and takes pride in maintaining precise financial records. Agent pay accuracy and timing are critical, as our agents are our clients.
Position Summary
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records across our real estate operations. This includes accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, commission and agent payouts, and support for tax and compliance reporting. The ideal candidate is organized, discreet, deadline-driven, and comfortable handling sensitive financial information.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction & Financial Management

Record and maintain all financial transactions, including income, expenses, deposits, and journal entries

Manage multiple bank accounts and ensure accurate tracking of funds for owners, agents, and tenants
Accounts Payable & Receivable

Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments

Track incoming payments, manage receivables, and follow up as needed
Bank & Account Reconciliation

Perform monthly bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations

Research and resolve discrepancies promptly and accurately
Commission & Agent Pay

Calculate and process commission splits and agent payouts with a high level of accuracy

Ensure payments are completed on time and in accordance with closing schedules
Tax & Compliance Support

Prepare and process 1099s and assist with year-end documentation

Provide organized financial records to external accountants and tax professionals
Systems & Recordkeeping

Maintain organized digital and paper financial records

Work within accounting systems (QuickBooks or similar); training provided on Constellation (formerly Real Ledger)

Manage electronic and manual bank deposits
Required Skills & Experience
-
Accountant-level bookkeeping experience (payroll processing not required; some tax prep support expected)

Strong experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and reconciliations

Experience processing 1099s

Comfortable managing multiple bank accounts and deposits

Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accountable

Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment tied to real estate closings
Real estate or property management experience is a plus but not required.
Technology & Software

Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar platforms

Tech-savvy and willing to learn new systems

Industry-agnostic accounting software experience acceptable
