

Tax Director (Trust) - Up to $225k + Bonus POST NUMBER: 436770

- Up to $225k base
- 20% bonus, paid in cash at YE
What you’ll be doing:
- Oversee all aspects of tax compliance, including individual, trust, partnership, LLC, and private foundation tax filings
- Manage and review the preparation and filing of K-1s, tax returns, and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Serve as a key resource for interpreting and applying complex tax laws, including the implications on family office operations
- Work with the General Partner (GP) to evaluate deductions and profits interest implications across all underlying entities
- Lead a team of five, ensuring effective management of interest booking, dividend reconciliation, and transaction recording on a cash basis
- Oversee month-end closing activities, including partnership accounting and profit interest allocations
- Record and review significant transactions, such as real estate sales, ensuring all relevant documentation is accurately reflected
- Provide mentorship and oversight to direct reports, fostering professional growth and ensuring team alignment with organizational goals
- Collaborate closely with external tax advisors (EY) and accounting firms to streamline processes and ensure compliance
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure regulatory adherence.
- Analyze tax and accounting data to provide actionable insights and recommendations to executive leadership
- Ensure transparent reporting for stakeholders, including detailed financial and tax reports tailored to family office needs
- 10 years of experience in a tax role, Big 4 or National PA firm preferred
- Individuals preferred with Masters of Taxation and / or professional certification (CPA); Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or accounting / tax a must.
- Extensive experience in hedge fund accounting or family office tax operations, with a focus on cash-basis accounting.
- Trust and Partnership tax reporting experience will make you stand out from others
