JOB SUMMARY
Vaco is currently seeking a REDCap System Admin for a 12M Contract opportunity that is 100% remote. The REDCap System Admin will administer, configure, and optimize the platform within a highly regulated environment, ensuring stability, security, and performance of the REDCap application and supporting infrastructure (cloud-hosted deployments). The REDCap System Admin will partner closely with leadership, researchers, and technical teams to support data collection, automation, and reporting initiatives. Additionally, the REDCap System Admin will drive proactive system management (backups / DR / performance analytics).

About the Project: This position will focus on guiding the platform through its urgent transition to a cloud-hosted environment, primarily on Azure (with potential AWS elements), ensuring high availability, performance, security, and compliance in a regulated setting. While strong REDCap expertise is a given, the role especially requires enough cloud familiarity to operate confidently in the new Azure-based deployment, enabling smooth stabilization post-migration.
- Administering REDCap Features: Project setup, user and access management, instrument configuration, upgrades, backups, and researcher support.
- Cloud: Applying practical, hands-on cloud skills to navigate Azure services, connect to virtual machines, monitor performance, review application logs, troubleshoot issues in the hosted environment, and assist with capacity planning and incident resolution.
- Database: Maintaining basic MySQL / DB knowledge for effective application-level diagnostics and support.
