About the Opportunity
Overall Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the company and its portfolio companies to drive the development and implementation of the operational finance strategy
  • Act as a project lead in implementing strategic operational finance initiatives
  • Act as a dedicated operational finance resource to the portfolio companies, while working closely with the value creation team

Post-Acquisition Integration:
  • Develop a finance-focused post-acquisition integration plan to roll out across portfolio companies, with focus on the following critical elements:
    • Establish a proper financial reporting package and reporting calendar
    • Review, recommend and improve upon existing financial systems (including IT applications/infrastructure), processes and controls in order to (i) manage the principal risks of the business; and (ii) meet the operational needs of the business; and (iii) ensure sufficient documentation of such activities
    • Develop appropriate key performance indicators (“KPIs”) and reporting methodologies to monitor and drive the financial performance of the business on a segmented and consolidated basis
    • Review and improve the bank covenant reporting package preparation process and content
    • Assess and improve upon the budgeting and monitoring process and system and identify and implement opportunities for improvement
    • Work closely with the data analytics team to identify data gaps and determine how best to implement data analytics in a consistent manner with consistent tools across the portfolio companies

Operational Finance Support:
  • Provide fractional interim operational finance support to the portfolio companies:
    • Manage and execute all finance and accounting functions, financial systems, policies and procedures
    • Oversee the timely issuance of financial reporting information, including financial statements and cash flow forecasts
    • Oversee and monitor the company’s financial position, banking and financing activities and monitor banking and financial covenants, as applicable
    • Coordinate and support the company's external auditors and ensure audit deliverables are prepared and submitted on a timely basis
    • Provide oversight of tax compliance in respect of each portfolio company and its subsidiaries
    • Assess and coach the finance team
    • Liaise with the team to implement and communicate findings on a regular basis

About You 
  • CPA designation
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in a financial management capacity across small and mid-sized organizations
  • Experience managing a team
  • Experience overseeing the preparation and issuance of all financial reporting information, including financial statements and cash flow forecasts
  • Experience with system implementation or process improvement would be beneficial to the role

Salary  
$190,000 to $210,000/year
