Title: Senior Accountant Consultant

Compensation: $50-60/hr (DOE)
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries, including prepaids, fixed asset depreciation, capitalized software, and commercial and G&A accruals
- Perform monthly account reconciliations across a variety of areas such as bank accounts, investments, prepaids, fixed assets, long-term assets, accrued contracts, and software capitalization
- Partner with business leaders and functional teams to obtain contract details and project updates to ensure accurate and timely accruals
- Review contracts and collaborate with stakeholders to properly account for capitalized software and fixed assets
- Conduct monthly and quarterly variance analysis for key accounts and projects
- Support monthly close processes, including preparation of trial balances and financial reporting
- Review invoice and purchase order coding for assigned departments
- Prepare and file property tax returns across multiple jurisdictions, along with ad hoc reporting
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal controls, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements
- Assist with financial audits and SOX reviews by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
- Manage quarterly related party reporting, including analysis, journal entries, and documentation updates
- Oversee and review R&D reporting by location for tax and census purposes
- Participate in special projects and provide ad hoc support to the Finance team as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including exposure to close processes, reconciliations, and accruals
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal control frameworks within a public company environment
- Experience within a publicly traded company and/or life sciences industry preferred
- Proficiency with ERP systems; experience with NetSuite, BlackLine, Coupa, and Concur strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
- High level of attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support colleagues and contribute to broader team goals
